Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-depth project-level cash flow analysis and scrutinize property-level activity for accuracy and trends.
  • Review accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), and general ledger transactions to ensure full GAAP compliance and identify discrepancies.
  • Prepare complex monthly journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, bank reconciliations, and detailed supporting schedules.
  • Lead and support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, delivering timely and accurate financial deliverables.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with asset management, tax, acquisitions, and leadership to provide financial insights and support strategic initiatives.
  • Assist in accounting for high-value transactions including property acquisitions, dispositions, and joint venture partnerships.
  • Perform variance analysis, forecasting support, and ad-hoc reporting to drive informed decision-making.
  • Maintain meticulous documentation and ensure adherence to internal controls and regulatory standards.

Required Qualifications

To excel in this Senior Property Accountant role, candidates should demonstrate:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; CPA certification strongly preferred.
  • 4-7 years of progressive property accounting experience, ideally within real estate investment firms, REITs, or property management companies.
