In this Staff Accountant position, you'll handle specialized revenue and grant accounting while contributing to broader financial operations. Partner with grant managers to uphold compliance with district policies, board directives, and grantor stipulations. Scrutinize contracts and award documents to verify fiscal terms, synchronize budgets with spending plans, and deliver real-time financial insights. Additionally, supervise student activity funds and donations, ensuring proper allocation and transparent reporting.
Monitor all financial data against GAAP, governmental standards, and local regulations. Prepare accurate journal entries and support monthly account reconciliations. Play a pivotal role in annual audits by compiling work papers and addressing auditor inquiries. Remain abreast of evolving federal, state, and local funding rules. Conduct fiscal analyses, generate administrative reports, and contribute to district-wide financial statements. Bolster internal controls by assessing risks, devising mitigation strategies, and training staff on financial protocols. Offer technical assistance for software implementation, handle bank deposits and reconciliations, and provide cross-functional backup in payroll, accounts payable, purchasing, budgeting, and more. To excel as our Staff Accountant, bring a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline, coupled with 3+ years in government or public-sector finance.
