Key Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed reconciliations for critical accounts including AR, Investment Savings, Scully Fund, and Petty Cash.
  • Deliver precise monthly General Ledger reconciliations to ensure reporting accuracy.
  • Educate and train departmental staff on accounting policies, procedures, and best practices to foster organization-wide compliance.
  • Manage and optimize electronic purchase order (PO) systems, including user training for efficiency.
  • Partner with external auditors by compiling comprehensive work papers and documentation for annual audits and reviews.
  • Provide flexible interim coverage for senior roles like Controller, Accounting Manager, or AP Manager during transitions or absences.

Required Qualifications

To succeed, you'll bring:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • At least 3 years of progressive experience in GL accounting, ideally within nonprofits.
  • Deep understanding of GAAP, internal controls, and nonprofit-specific financial practices like grant management.
