Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Financial Operations

  • Support daily accounting activities including accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), journal entries, reconciliations, and payroll coordination to keep operations running smoothly.
  • Maintain accurate, organized financial records ensuring full compliance with GAAP standards and readiness for audits or reviews.
  • Assist in monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including preparing trial balances and resolving discrepancies.
  • Manage expense tracking, invoice processing, vendor payments, and cash flow monitoring to optimize financial efficiency.
  • Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and cost control efforts by analyzing variances and providing actionable insights.
  • Prepare and review essential financial statements like income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports for leadership review.
  • Liaise with external accountants, auditors, tax advisors, and vendors to facilitate smooth collaborations and resolve issues promptly.

Operational & Administrative Support

  • Organize and maintain critical records, contracts, leases, and documentation for easy access and compliance.
  • Provide general administrative assistance, including scheduling, calendar management, and office coordination.
  • Handle vendor management, negotiate terms where possible, track office expenses, and support procurement needs.
  • Assist leadership with special projects, data analysis, custom reporting, and other ad hoc tasks as they arise.

People & Process Support

  • Support employee onboarding, offboarding, benefits enrollment, and payroll documentation to streamline HR functions.
  • Maintain HR systems, employee files, and records with confidentiality and accuracy.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements in accounting, operations, and HR to boost efficiency, reduce errors, and scale with business growth.

Required Qualifications

To excel as our Staff Accountant, you need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 2-4 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in start-ups, small businesses, or dynamic environments.
  • Strong proficiency in QuickBooks Online/Desktop, advanced Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs), and accounting software.
  • Demonstrated skills in financial reporting, AP/AR, payroll, and month-end closes.
