  • Prepare, edit, proofread, and format intricate legal documents such as wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and probate filings.
  • Manage both electronic and physical files in strict adherence to firm protocols and data security standards.
  • Assist with all aspects of court and agency filings, including e-filing, tracking deadlines, and ensuring accuracy.
  • Support billing cycles by entering time, generating invoices, and facilitating month-end closings.
  • Manage client and matter intake processes, drafting engagement letters and conflict checks.
  • Coordinate seamlessly with paralegals, clerks, and other departments to meet urgent deadlines and client demands.
  • Maintain accurate trust account records and assist in trust administration and reporting.
  • Serve as a commissioned Notary Public, witnessing signatures and authenticating documents as needed.
  • Proactively anticipate attorney needs, troubleshoot issues, and enhance overall efficiency.

Required Qualifications

To excel in this role, candidates should possess:

  • At least 3 years of direct experience as a Legal Assistant or Paralegal in Trusts & Estates.
  • In-depth knowledge of trusts and estates laws, procedures, court rules, and compliance in New York.
