Join Robert Half's network of top technology talent and advance your career with this exciting Umbraco Consultant opportunity in Minneapolis, MN.

Why This Umbraco Role Stands Out

Unlike traditional development roles, this position combines deep technical implementation with architectural leadership. You'll not only code but also shape the future of the team's Umbraco practice, ensuring long-term success through documentation, standards, and knowledge transfer. Perfect for Umbraco certified professionals or those with proven migration experience from platforms like Kentico.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership & Standards

Lead by example as the primary technical authority on Umbraco CMS. Your leadership will ensure consistent, high-quality deliverables that scale with business needs.

Mentorship & Knowledge Transfer

Mentor existing web developers, transitioning them into Umbraco and .NET experts. Create practical documentation that empowers the team to operate independently after your initial engagement. This knowledge-sharing aspect is crucial for the client's long-term success.

Core Development & Migration

Hands-on development of foundational Umbraco components including content types, document templates, and navigation patterns. Lead complex migration strategies from Kentico, developing content mapping schemas and execution approaches to minimize downtime and preserve data integrity.

Integrations & Accessibility

Implement essential third-party integrations such as Google Analytics, tag management systems (GTM), and interactive maps. Champion web accessibility by embedding WCAG compliance into all components through semantic HTML, keyboard navigation, accessible forms, and ARIA landmarks. Define rigorous acceptance criteria and mixed testing protocols (automated tools + manual audits).

Required Qualifications

To excel as our Umbraco Consultant, you need proven hands-on experience with Umbraco CMS versions 10+ and strong .NET Core/ASP.NET proficiency. Experience migrating from Kentico or similar CMS platforms is essential, along with deep expertise in web accessibility implementation (WCAG 2.1 AA). You should demonstrate technical leadership capabilities, having mentored teams and established enterprise development standards.
