Role Overview

As a Senior Tax Manager in our M&A Tax practice, you will play a crucial role in advising multinational corporations, privately held companies, partnerships, and private equity firms on the tax aspects of planning, structuring, and executing M&A transactions. This position focuses on three core concepts: Technical & Quality Expertise, People & Talent Management, and Client Service/Business Development.

Day in the Life

Your day-to-day activities will be diverse and challenging, including:

  • Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team to deliver due diligence and tax structuring services.
  • Leading Canadian tax due diligence engagements, including reviewing the target's historical tax profile, planning, tax examination, and acquisition/disposition history.
  • Preparing and reviewing tax due diligence reports.
  • Assisting with various tax advisory engagements, such as buy-side and sell-side structuring, domestic reorganizations, and cross-border planning.
  • Evaluating structures for tax efficiency and modeling transaction scenarios.
  • Collaborating with other service lines and external advisors on M&A engagements.
  • Maintaining high-level client relationships and contributing to business initiatives.
  • Developing, motivating, and training team members.
