Furnace Operator II is the next level of progression in the braze field. A Furnace Operator II has successfully completed both practical demonstration and written exam requirements associated with certification. Operator is capable of completing all required duties of a furnace operator while under the general guidance of more experienced operators.  Operator follow established standard work under general supervision. The operator will typically refer to problems or deviations to more experienced operators including Lead Technicians, supervisors or engineers.

4th Shift, Weekend Shift, Friday through Sunday 6AM – 6:30PM- Paid for 40 hours.

External candidates will receive a $1,000 sign on bonus.

What You Will Do

  • Load, unload and monitor furnaces runs.

  • Inspect parts that have been brazed.

  • Understand and follow quality testing techniques. Learn how to read and understand prints so that inspection and alloy placement can be understood.

  • Demonstrate proficiency in Manufacturing Documentation and Labor Transactions.

  • Support and follow all rules/guidelines/standards set by EHS, Quality, and CI functions as set by your leader and position.

  • Works under immediate supervision. Normally receives detailed instructions on all work.

  • Develops basic job skills and learns company policies and procedures to complete routine tasks.

  • Tasks are routine/ repetitive in nature, requiring limited judgment. Has little or no role in decision-making.

  • Actively participate in the Continuous Improvement process as well as safety related activities.

  • Over 40 hours per week as scheduled to meet business needs.

  • All other duties as assigned including working extended shifts/overtime as required by the business.

  • Willingness to work nonstandard hours

  • Some Holiday hours may be required based on business need

  • Working extended shifts/overtime as required by the business

  • The schedule for this position is Friday through Sunday 6AM – 6:30PM

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D. in the US) or vocational/technical education in related discipline with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Prior furnace monitoring experience

  • Manual dexterity to perform tasks associated with furnace operations including fine, detailed manipulation of small tools.

  • Ability to use various hand tools and equipment such as a scope and alloy applicator.

  • Ability to learn how to read and understand prints

  • Basic shop math including knowledge of Geometric Tolerances.

  • Basic proficiency with identifying, analyzing and resolving problems.

  • Ability to pass FAR 145 training
