We bring the strength of more than 100 years of experience and renowned engineering expertise to meet the needs of today’s mission and stay ahead of tomorrow’s threat. Our team solves tough, meaningful problems that create a safer, more secure world.

The Air Launched Effector Guidance Systems Department is searching for a Senior Principal Electrical Engineer for the Electrical/Systems Technical Lead role on the Air Dominance Sustainment program tasked with supporting field repairs for the High Speed Anti-Radiation Missile (HARM) Targeting System (HTS) and a proprietary program.  The Technical Lead will work closely with all disciplines associated with the Sustainment repair process including Program Management, Chief Engineers, Quality, Supply Chain and Production Operations to ensure the technical integrity of our products is maintained and performs as intended every time.  The Technical Lead’s knowledge base will be used to lead and/or support failure investigations, obsolescence redesigns, factory escapes, supplier issues and much more.  The ability to calmly but quickly review and analyze information, separate fact from fiction and make decisions and/or recommendations is critical in this role.

The Technical Lead also provides both technical guidance and supervision in meeting project commitments.  Allocating time to mentor newer engineers is also key to the success of the team and program.  They also manage suppliers and may lead efforts in proposal development.

What You Will Do:

  • Responsible for the technical integrity of the HTS and proprietary program assemblies, including the Technical Data Package (TDP) maintenance, validation, and integration
  • Technical oversight for a team of 8 program specific engineers and leading/managing the teams’ cross functional engagements
  • Manage the technical risk for the HTS and proprietary program assemblies
  • Responsible for technical oversight of Sustainment failure investigations
  • Frequent engagement with program chief engineers to ensure technical rigor
  • Engagement with program management on strategic development of plans for execution and/or course of actions to ensure contract execution in regard to cost and schedule

  • Raytheon has a strong culture of mentoring; it is expected that employees will be both mentors and mentees.
  • Assignments may require some travel, including foreign travel.
  • Collaboration with both Functional and Program higher level management.
  • Collaboration with Customer and Suppliers.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Bachelor’s in science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)
  • Typically requires a minimum of eight (8) years of experience in one or more of the following areas:
    • RF product and subassembly integration, and production support in a Sustainment phase of the product lifecycle
    • Analog, digital, and power electronics, integration, and production support
    • Deconvolving high level requirements into actionable design electronics and subsystem architectures
  • Experience in customer and supplier engagement to resolve requirements issues
  • Experience with changes in logistical support, technical requirements and environments associated with field support of the hardware that will allow continued operation and support within cost, schedule, and/or risk constraints.
