About the Internship

Join the Quality Engineering team at Collins Aerospace, where precision, innovation, and digital transformation meet. As a Quality Engineering Intern, you’ll be part of a team driving continuous improvement, advanced inspection technologies, and digital integration to enhance product quality and operational excellence.

This internship offers hands-on experience in advanced manufacturing technologies, digital quality systems, and Customer Oriented Results & Excellence (CORE) problem-solving methodologies used across Collins Aerospace’s global network.

What You Will Learn

• Understand and apply CORE principles to solve complex quality and process challenges.
• Learn how to reduce measurement variation and improve Gauge Repeatability & Reproducibility (GRR) on key inspection equipment.
• Gain exposure to FAI (First Article Inspection) and documentation practices within QMS and JIS standards.
• Build technical skills in Power BI, Python, and digital dashboard development.
• Develop soft skills in communication, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration.

What You Will Work On

• Support advanced technology projects including 5-axis CMM, 3D Opticline, Roll Tester, Gear Inspection, and Vision Systems.
• Assist with QC inspection productivity projects such as time studies and process improvements.
• Enhance the Quality Digital Dashboard and Cockpit Digitalization to promote paperless Tier meetings (QIC, CAB, SRR).
• Migrate existing reports to digital platforms, improving visibility and real-time monitoring.
• Support updates to QMS and JIS documentation and help maintain compliance standards.
• Assist in ongoing SRR & Internal PPM monitoring and dashboard best-practice integration.
• Participate in Quality & Capex Council activities to help reduce non-conformance and product scrap through AOI and AI vision projects.
• Contribute to NPI automation initiatives (autorun programming for CMM and Opticline).
• Complete all mandatory ITC and Ethics (GLP) trainings on schedule.
• Support other ad hoc duties or projects as assigned.
