Position Summary

The Safety & Health Specialist II role at Williams is your chance to actively drive a process safety culture within our Technical Operations and Facilities teams. Based in Tulsa, Oklahoma, this mid-level position focuses on coordinating and supervising elements of the Process Safety Management (PSM) Program. You'll leverage your expertise in EHS Management Systems, OSHA regulations, behavior-based safety, and industry standards to ensure compliance, mitigate hazards, and advance our zero-incident goal. Day in the Life

Expect a dynamic role advising on daily operations, maintenance plans, and construction projects. You'll communicate strategies to enhance safety culture, interpret data for performance trends, and engage in continuous improvement initiatives. With up to 50% travel, you'll visit sites to conduct assessments, lead training, and facilitate incident investigations, all while prioritizing safety as the utmost value.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with functional groups to implement new or modified Process Safety standards across the company.
  • Acquire and communicate knowledge of OSHA regulatory requirements and their potential impacts to partners.
  • Assist in developing and implementing site-specific operating and maintenance procedures.
  • Participate in Process Hazard Analysis (PHA), Hazard Screen Review (HSR), and Management of Change (MOC) processes to identify and mitigate hazards.
  • Lead incident investigations as a facilitator, guide team members, and ensure follow-up on hazard/near-miss reporting.
  • Develop and lead safety training programs for enhanced culture and compliance.
  • Coordinate internal assessments, audits, and gap closure plans.
  • Prepare process safety metric data and related reporting.
  • Understand emergency shutdown systems and contribute to emergency action planning.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support safety excellence.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma/GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years in operations, safety, or related role.
  • Skills: Strong understanding of PSM, OSHA regulations, EHS systems, and safety metrics. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Technical: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn company software.
  • Other: Valid state driver's license with clean driving record; willing to travel up to 50%.
