Come innovate with us!Position SummaryThe position of Infra Electrical Protection Engineer is primarily responsible for the management of the site electrical model (ETAP), the coordination of system protection on site and the health of relaying and control system hardware within the Engineering and Operations facilities Department. The candidate is expected to have sufficient knowledge of differential protection schemes, bus transfer, and backup generator controls interfaces. Proven knowledge of medium and high voltage Electrical Distribution.Role and ResponsibilitiesHere's What You'll be Responsible For:• Develop and maintain Samsung’s Power Distribution System Protection and Modeling philosophy.• Applies system protection engineering practices and principles in one or more of the following areas: distribution lines and buses, transformer, capacitor banks, reactor banks, grounding transformers, generators, motors, and communication assisted protection schemes.• Performs complex power system analyses, such as protective coordination, symmetrical (and occasionally asymmetrical) analysis, fault and arc-flash studies, load flows, service reliability, load forecasts, power quality, voltage stability, system expansion (relay settings development and coordination) studies.• Manages the master ETAP and/or SKM model and provides revision control of all changes. Ensures the model stays up to date and that all custom arc-flash labeling in the field is current.• Develops and prepares engineering designs, drawings, circuit maps, control diagrams, charts, databases, plans, and other documents for transmission and distribution systems, generation and substation facilities.• Formulates, prepares, and implements operating and safety procedures and guidelines, and operating manuals for all Samsung Electrical Systems within the facility.Skills and QualificationsHere's What You'll Bring to Samsung:​BS degree in Engineering, strong preference for Electrical Engineering (Master’s in technical field a plus).7 + years of relevant experience with medium & high voltage electrical distributionElectrical Protection and Coordination Experience required#LI-NF1The current base salary range for this role is between $94,260 - $212,650. Individual base pay rates will depend on factors including duties, work location, education, skills, qualifications and experience.
