Come build with us!Role and ResponsibilitiesWe are looking for a Roadmap Architect to drive competitive analysis, workload characterization, and prototype modeling efforts in support of our Mobile GPU Roadmap. This critical role sits at the intersection of GPU architecture, system performance, and future technology planning, with a direct impact on long-term roadmap decisions and innovation across multiple architecture domains. As a roadmap architect, you will analyze emerging workloads, evaluate industry competition, and develop lightweight prototypes to shape the next generation of mobile GPUs.You will be primarily responsible for competitive analysis and workload characterization, prototyping and roadmap development.You evaluate GPU performance, power efficiency, and feature trends across the industry to identify areas for improvement.You analyze representative workloads across popular and emerging use cases, like gaming, ray tracing and AI.You collaborate with performance and workload teams to assess efficiency and identify bottlenecks.You develop targeted micro-benchmarks to quantify architectural gaps.You prototype new features and explore trade-offs for future GPU architecture and evaluating the impact on performance, power and area.You synthesize competitive, workload, and prototype findings into technical reports and actionable roadmap planning, informing long-term technology strategy.You partner with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product, and executive stakeholders, to integrate innovations into a unified roadmap vision.Skills and QualificationsMinimum Requirements:10+ years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering/relevant technical field, or 8+ years of experience with a Master’s degree, or 6+ years of experience with a PhD.Industry experience in GPU system architecture, performance modeling or competitive benchmarking.Proficiency with modern graphics APIs (Vulkan, DirectX 12, Metal, or OpenGL).Strong understanding of rendering pipeline and graphics algorithms, or ML software stack and model workload.Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with engineering, product, and executive teams.Nice to Have:Familiarity with mobile SoC design constraints, including power envelopes, memory bandwidth, thermal efficiency.Knowledge of emerging graphics and AI techniques such as neural rendering and ray tracing.Proven track record of contributing to technology strategy or roadmap development, with a strong understanding of industry trends and competitive landscapes.Our TeamWe’re growing a team with talented individuals and diverse skillsets to build a technology roadmap and deliver market-leading GPU product. Our GPU Architect team delivers whole system architecture-level design for Samsung’s current and next-generation mobile GPU. Depending on the functional discipline, they’re responsible for anywhere from early-stage architectural exploration, research work focusing on graphic and machine learning, defining new features, modeling, to diving into microarchitecture design and programming work.Total RewardsAt Samsung – SARC/ACL, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $151,000 and $251,800. Your actual base pay will depend on variables that may include your education skills, qualifications, experience, and work location. This is an exempt position, which is not eligible for overtime pay under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).Samsung employees have access to benefits including: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401(k), free onsite lunch, employee purchase program, tuition assistance (after 6 months), paid time off, student loan program, wellness incentives, and many more.
