The team is responsible for turning this data into actionable insights which allows our stakeholders to make data-driven decisions and create value to our business, customers and partners.We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer who is passionate about big data technology and delivering data solutions to handle TB scale data per day and help the business meet the distinct needs of different customer cohorts.What We Offer • Competitive Salary • Group Savings Matching Program• Employer Paid Flexible Health & Dental Coverage from day one• Wellbeing PTO days• Employee Purchase Program – discounts on all Samsung products! • Professional Development Opportunities and 24/7 Access to Samsung U • 4-day in-office work schedule Monday through Thursday – with Friday remaining a flex day to work remotely• Employee Referral Program- we want great talent like you!Role and ResponsibilitiesResponsible for data engineering activities including data ingestion, data modelling, data processing and data governanceWork with team to improve data pipelines which process large scale data efficientlyBe a data steward to educate and promote the data importance and data-driven cultureBe constantly challenged to learn and grow with new technologies, identify and solve complex problems via dataCollaborate with the key stakeholders, product owners, external vendors to define solutions for business and technical requirementsBe responsible for system architecture design and data engineering activities including data ingestion, data modelling, data processing and data governanceWork as a technical expert and strategic thought leader to the data platform by providing architectural leadershipLead, participate, guide and mentor other team members on architecture and design with hands on.Skills and Qualifications6+ years of professional experience in software and big data from a product companyArchitecture design and development of large-scale data platform and data application with simple solutionsExperience on large-scale multi-tier cloud applications and environmentsHave deep understanding on data engineering principles, hands-on experience of high availability systems and API designStrong knowledge of SQL (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and preferably experience with NoSQL databasesExtensive experience with various AWS services (e.g. EC2, S3, Athena, Lambda, Kinesis Firehose, Redshift)Experience with Airflow, EKS, EMR, Redshift, KubernetesGood Hadoop ecosystem knowledge (e.g. Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, Hive, Presto)Proficient in at least one programming language and scripting languages (Python, Java, Scala, Bash)Experience with CICD tools such as Git Actions and CircleCIFamiliar with Agile/Scrum software development methodologiesBS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent educationExcellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills to effectively communicate information to all levels within the organizationBonus SkillsDevOps skills: create build & install scripts, terraform, UNIX-based systems management, release management, production monitoring, etc.Experience with GCP, Google Analytics and SupersetExperience with Tableau data source and dashboard creationExperience with Health or IOT or Mobile Device Management businessThe salary range for this role is expected to be between $109,000 to $142,000 and reflects base salary only.
