Role Overview

Sanford Health is seeking a dedicated and skilled Advanced Practice Provider (APP), either a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA), to join our Emergency Medicine/Acute Care team in Worthington, Minnesota. Day in the Life

As an APP in our Emergency Department and Walk-In clinic, your day will be dynamic and varied. You will:

  • Obtain thorough medical histories from patients.
  • Perform physical examinations and assessments to determine patient needs.
  • Analyze and interpret patient information, medical records, symptoms, and diagnostic results.
  • Develop and establish appropriate diagnoses.
  • Formulate treatment plans and prescribe medications as legally authorized.
  • Provide patient education and counseling on health promotion, risk factor reduction, and disease prevention.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and comprehensive care.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records.
  • Participate in hospital consultations and assist with patient procedures as needed.
  • Work 12-hour shifts, averaging 36 patient contact hours per week.

You will be an integral part of a multi-specialty team of 30 providers, including Primary Care, Pediatrics, Women's Health, Orthopedics, Podiatry, General Surgery, Oncology, Emergency Medicine, and Hospitalists.
