  • North Dakota: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification with the State Board of Nursing required. (experience)
  • Knowledge of age-appropriate care related to physical and psychological needs of residents. (experience)
  • Ability to provide resident-centered nursing care. (experience)
  • Understanding of plan of care development. (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Provide resident-centered nursing care under the supervision of a charge nurse.
  • Assist residents with basic health care needs, including daily living activities (bathing, toileting, grooming, dressing/undressing).
  • Obtain and record vital signs.
  • Provide psycho-social support and personal care to assigned residents.
  • Assist residents in transferring, re-positioning, and walking using correct and appropriate transfer techniques and equipment.
  • Provide range of motion and passive exercises.
  • Complete tasks related to food preparation and dining, creating a positive dining experience.
  • Assist residents with meals and snacks; provide water and supplements as appropriate.
  • Administer prescribed medications as delegated by a licensed nurse and within scope of practice as defined by state regulations.
  • Document outcomes related to resident care, medication administration, behavior, activity, and dietary.
  • Communicate changing conditions, medication follow-up, and care-related concerns/responses to the charge nurse.
  • Collect non-invasive body fluid specimens.
  • Provide housekeeping and laundry services to assist residents in keeping living areas clean and operational.
  • Provide assistance and documentation with wellness and recreational programs and encourage resident participation.
  • Participate in departmental/organization committees and task forces as needed.
  • Adhere to all Sanford Health policies and procedures.
  • Maintain resident confidentiality and privacy.
  • Ensure a safe and comfortable environment for residents.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care.
  • Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Respond to resident requests and needs promptly and efficiently.
  • Monitor and report any signs of abuse or neglect.
  • Assist with admission and discharge processes as needed.
  • Promote resident independence and autonomy.
  • Provide emotional support to residents and their families.
