Dietary Consultant - CDM - Long Term Care - Western MN

Role Overview

As a Dietary Consultant, you will play a crucial role in guiding and supporting interdisciplinary services to meet the spiritual, social, emotional, and physical needs of each resident in our long-term care facilities. You will serve as the subject matter expert for dietary operations, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, and upholding the philosophy, mission, standards, policies, and practices of Sanford Health.

Day in the Life

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and providing guidance on policies and procedures related to dietary services.
  • Instructing, training, and providing resources to center dietary leaders and staff.
  • Providing consultation and training to center dietary leaders on policies and procedures.
  • Offering guidance on food service and clinical nutrition issues.
  • Providing guidance on quality, management, budgeting, staffing, products, and equipment.
  • Providing interpretation, assistance, guidance, and problem-solving services.
  • Providing education pertaining to food and nutrition services through workshops and education sessions.
  • Developing training materials.
  • Sharing expertise with individuals and other departments through cooperative work on committees and task forces.
  • Maintaining and updating knowledge and practices in the food and nutrition field.
  • Working with federal and state regulatory agencies.
  • Participating in the reviews and updates of policies/procedures, manuals, guidance materials, and training methods.
  • Assisting network and territory consultants to coordinate the provision of services with other disciplines.
