Role Overview

Sanford Health is seeking a skilled and dedicated Advanced Practice Provider (APP), either a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA), to join our Surgical Associates Clinic in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. This full-time position offers the opportunity to work closely with Dr. Thav Thambi and Dr. Hassan Turaihi, providing comprehensive care to patients across general surgery, colorectal, and hepatopancreato-biliary (HPB) specialties. The role involves a diverse mix of outpatient clinic work, operating room assistance, and inpatient rounding, ensuring a dynamic and engaging work environment. The APP will play a vital role in assessing patients, developing treatment plans, and providing education and support to patients and their families.

A Day in the Life

A typical day for the APP in this role might include:

• Morning: Conducting outpatient clinic visits, assessing patients, reviewing medical histories, and developing treatment plans.
• Mid-day: Assisting in the operating room, providing support to surgeons during various procedures across general surgery, colorectal, and HPB specialties.
• Afternoon: Performing inpatient rounding, monitoring patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as needed, and coordinating care with other healthcare professionals.
