Laundry Technician, Long Term Care (LTC) - PT Day at Sanford Health

Role Overview

As a Laundry Technician at Sanford Health's GSS NE Omaha Millard Center, you'll play a crucial role in maintaining a clean and sanitary environment for our residents and staff. This part-time position involves performing a variety of tasks related to laundry operations, from collecting and sorting dirty linens to washing, drying, and folding clean items. You'll be an essential part of our team, ensuring that our facilities meet the highest standards of hygiene and infection control.

A Day in the Life

Your day as a Laundry Technician might look like this:

  • Morning: Start by collecting soiled linens from resident rooms, nursing stations, and other designated areas. Carefully sort the linens based on type, color, and level of contamination.
  • Mid-day: Load and operate washing machines, ensuring proper water temperature and detergent usage. Transfer wet laundry to dryers and set appropriate drying cycles.
  • Afternoon: Fold clean linens and clothing, preparing them for distribution. Stock linen carts and deliver clean items to various locations throughout the facility.
  • Throughout the day: Maintain a clean and organized laundry area. Follow infection control procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

You will work either 4 days a week in 5-6 hour shifts, or 5 days a week in 4-5 hour shifts. Shifts are primarily during the day.
