Role Overview

Sanford Health is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Board Certified/Board Eligible Internal Medicine physician to join our growing team in Fargo, North Dakota. This is an excellent opportunity to practice in a state-of-the-art medical center within a supportive and collaborative environment. As an Internal Medicine physician at Sanford Health, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive medical care to adolescent and adult patients, focusing on the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of a wide range of illnesses and conditions.

A Day in the Life

As an Internal Medicine Physician at Sanford Health, your day will be dynamic and rewarding. You will typically start by reviewing your patient schedule and preparing for the day's appointments. Throughout the day, you will: * Conduct thorough history and physical examinations. * Evaluate and diagnose medical conditions. * Develop and implement individualized treatment plans. * Order and interpret diagnostic tests. * Prescribe and manage medications. * Educate patients about their health and treatment options. * Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care. * Document patient encounters in the electronic health record. * Participate in team meetings and quality improvement initiatives. * Provide inpatient care as needed. * Participate in telephone call coverage. The Internal Medicine group works as a “provider team,” which includes a physician, APP (Advanced Practice Provider), and a primary nurse, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment. APPs round on nursing-home patients regularly, with physician visits occurring once a month, allowing you to focus on more complex cases and provide specialized care. You also have the opportunity to provide six weeks of hospital coverage per year, if desired.
