As an RN in our Outpatient Care Center, you will be responsible for utilizing the nursing process to provide comprehensive care to infusion patients. This includes assessing patient needs, developing and implementing care plans, administering medications and treatments, monitoring for adverse reactions, and providing patient education. You will collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of tasks, requiring critical thinking, excellent time management skills, and the ability to prioritize patient needs effectively.
Your day will begin with a review of the patient schedule and preparation for the day's infusions. You will greet patients, assess their current condition, and verify their treatment plan with the physician's orders. You will then prepare the medications and equipment needed for the infusion, ensuring accuracy and safety. During the infusion, you will closely monitor the patient for any adverse reactions, providing comfort and support as needed. You will also educate patients about their treatment and answer any questions they may have. Throughout the day, you will collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to ensure seamless and coordinated care. You will also document all patient care activities in the electronic health record. The role also includes scheduling follow-up appointments and coordinating any necessary tests or procedures.
