As an RN in our Wound Healing Center, you will play a vital role in providing specialized care to patients with chronic and complex wounds. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized treatment plans, promote wound healing, and improve patient outcomes. As a Wound Healing Center RN at Sanford Health, your day will be dynamic and rewarding. You will start by reviewing patient charts and preparing for scheduled appointments. During patient visits, you will conduct comprehensive wound assessments, including measuring wound size, evaluating tissue characteristics, and documenting any signs of infection. You will collaborate with physicians to develop and implement treatment plans, which may include wound cleansing, debridement, application of specialized dressings, and hyperbaric oxygen therapy. You will also educate patients and their families on proper wound care techniques, infection prevention strategies, and strategies to promote healing at home. Throughout the day, you will document patient progress, communicate with other members of the healthcare team, and provide emotional support to patients and their families. You will also participate in team meetings, attend continuing education programs, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
