Role Overview

Sanford Health is seeking a BC/BE Interventional Cardiologist to join our team at the Sanford Aberdeen Medical Center in Aberdeen, South Dakota. Day in the Life

As an Interventional Cardiologist at Sanford Health, your day will be dynamic and rewarding. You will start by reviewing patient charts and preparing for scheduled procedures. Throughout the day, you'll perform diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterizations, interpreting the data and making critical decisions regarding patient care. You will collaborate closely with a team of nurses, technicians, and other physicians to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Additionally, you'll spend time consulting with patients and their families, explaining diagnoses, treatment options, and providing support. On-call duties will also be a part of your responsibilities, providing timely care for patients experiencing cardiac emergencies.

Salary & Benefits

Sanford Health offers a competitive salary and benefits package commensurate with experience and qualifications. The salary range for this position is estimated to be between $350,000 and $600,000 per year.    Sanford Aberdeen Medical Center has Nuclear Medicine on site, stress tests available, and a cath lab available Monday-Friday. STEMI coverage is also available Monday-Friday. Ancillary services include Anesthesiology; Inpatient & Outpatient Surgery with a Cardiac Cath Lab; Diagnostic Testing – Echo, Vascular, Stress, Ultrasound; CT/x-ray/MRI, Nuc Med; Respiratory Therapy; Lab & Pathology; Outpatient Infusion Center; Therapy Services, including Cardiac Rehab, Diabetes Education, Pharmacy, and much more.

   Interventional Cardiology Core Privileges includes the ability to perform history and physical examinations, admit, evaluate, treat, and provide consultation to patients of all ages with acute and chronic coronary artery disease, acute coronary syndromes, and valvular heart disease.

5. What are the qualifications for this position?

   M.D. or D.O. degree. Experience can be demonstrated through fellowship logs, quality profiles, or hospital-based clinical activity documentation. Specific requirements for interventional catheterization skills include documentation of 250 interventional procedures as the primary operator within the past 24 months and a letter of reference regarding competency from the director of the cardiac catheterization laboratory.
