A Day in the Life

Your typical day as an Interventional Cardiologist at Sanford Health will be dynamic and varied, encompassing a blend of clinical care, procedural work, and academic pursuits. You might begin with morning rounds, assessing patients in the cardiac catheterization lab and collaborating with nurses and technicians to prepare for the day's procedures. The majority of your day will be spent performing interventional procedures such as coronary angiography, percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), and structural heart interventions like TAVR and MitraClip. You will also be involved in pre- and post-procedure patient management, ensuring optimal outcomes and patient satisfaction. In addition to procedural work, you will dedicate time to outpatient clinic, where you will evaluate new patients, provide follow-up care, and consult with referring physicians. You will also have the opportunity to participate in research projects, present at conferences, and contribute to the education of cardiology fellows and other trainees.
