Satisfactory completion of formal radiologic technology training in an American Medical Association (AMA) approved school is required. Registration through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is also required.
A minimum of one year of experience as a staff radiologic technologist is preferred.
Vascular Interventional Technology (VI) certification is encouraged within 24 months of hire if responsibilities are performed within interventional radiology in South Dakota. Additionally, Cardiovascular Interventional Radiography (CI) certification is encouraged within 24 months of hire if responsibilities are performed within the Cardiac Cath Lab.
If working in North Dakota and performing medical imaging, interventional radiology, or radiation therapy procedures, licensure through the North Dakota Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy (NDMIRT) Board is required.
The work schedule is typically day shifts, with 40 scheduled weekly hours. The ability to work a flexible schedule and take after-hour call is required.
Key responsibilities include providing high-quality images, operating specialized equipment, minimizing radiation exposure, and ensuring patient comfort and safety.
Essential skills include technical proficiency in interventional radiology procedures, knowledge of anatomy and physiology, and excellent patient care and communication skills.
