As an LPN in our long-term care facility, you will provide professional nursing care to residents of all ages under the supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician. You will utilize your nursing skills to assess residents' needs, administer medications and treatments, document resident interactions, and provide emotional support to residents and their families.
Your responsibilities will include:
Your day as an LPN at Sanford Health might look like this:
7:00 AM: Receive shift report from the outgoing LPN and review resident care plans.
7:30 AM: Administer morning medications and treatments to assigned residents.
8:00 AM: Assist residents with breakfast and provide feeding assistance as needed.
9:00 AM: Monitor vital signs and document any changes in resident condition.
10:00 AM: Provide wound care and dressing changes as ordered.
11:00 AM: Assist residents with activities of daily living, such as bathing and dressing.
12:00 PM: Administer lunchtime medications and treatments.
1:00 PM: Assist residents with lunch and provide feeding assistance as needed.
2:00 PM: Document patient care accurately and thoroughly in electronic health records.
3:00 PM: Communicate with families regarding resident status and care plan updates.
4:00 PM: Participate in care planning meetings with the interdisciplinary team.
5:00 PM: Administer evening medications and treatments.
6:00 PM: Assist residents with dinner and provide feeding assistance as needed.
7:00 PM: Prepare for shift report and provide updates to the oncoming LPN.
