  • Contributes to the assessment of residents and administers medications or treatments as ordered.
  • Provides technical support to healthcare professionals as needed.
  • Documents resident interactions as needed and the outcomes related to resident care, medication, behavior, activity, and dietary.
  • Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with residents, healthcare providers, and the public.
  • Works effectively with professional and supportive personnel as a member of an interdisciplinary care team.
  • Communicates clearly and maintains confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Counsels residents, family members, and/or resident advocate, under the direction of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician on prevention and treatment plans.
  • Develops a self-care program using knowledge of resident education principles.
  • Recognizes problems, recommends solutions, and responds effectively to assist in an emergent situation.
  • Observes residents for changes in condition and reports them to the appropriate healthcare professional.
  • Assists residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and eating.
  • Maintains a clean and safe environment for residents.
  • Participates in resident care conferences.
  • Assists with admission, transfer, and discharge of residents.
  • Follows established policies and procedures.
  • Adheres to infection control practices.
  • Operates and maintains medical equipment.
  • Participates in quality improvement activities.
  • Provides emotional support to residents and their families.
  • Attends and participates in staff meetings and training sessions.
  • Administers and documents medications accurately, following the five rights of medication administration.
  • Provides wound care as ordered by the physician.
  • Monitors and documents vital signs.
  • Assists with restorative and rehabilitative programs.
  • Responds to resident calls promptly and efficiently.
  • Prepares and assists with meals and snacks.
  • Assists with bowel and bladder training programs.
  • Implements fall prevention strategies.
  • Reports any suspected abuse or neglect.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
