Required Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program (experience)
  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) licensure (experience)
  • Unencumbered LPN license with State Nursing board and/or possess multi-state licensure privileges (experience)
  • IV therapy/management skills (if required) (experience)
  • Completion of an IV Therapy course approved by the North Dakota Board of Nursing (if applicable) (experience)
  • CPR certification (experience)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (experience)
  • ACLS certification (preferred) (experience)
  • Experience in cardiology (preferred) (experience)
  • Knowledge of cardiac conditions and treatments (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the implementation and evaluation of patient care under supervision.
  • Administer medications as prescribed by physician or advanced practice provider.
  • Monitor patients' vital signs and report any changes to the appropriate healthcare professional.
  • Document patient information accurately and timely in the electronic health record (EHR).
  • Assist physicians and nurses with procedures and examinations.
  • Provide patient education on medications, treatments, and disease management.
  • Perform EKG's and other diagnostic tests as ordered.
  • Assist with wound care and dressing changes.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients.
  • Adhere to infection control policies and procedures.
  • Triage phone calls and address patient concerns.
  • Schedule appointments and manage patient flow.
  • Prepare patients for examinations and procedures.
  • Obtain patient histories and document relevant information.
  • Assist with referrals to specialists and other healthcare services.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of care plans.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide coordinated care.
  • Provide emotional support and encouragement to patients and families.
  • Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Participate in continuing education and professional development activities.
  • Assist with inventory management and ordering of supplies.
  • Follow established policies and procedures.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor and document patient responses to treatment.
  • Recognize and respond to emergency situations.
  • Assist in the collection of lab specimens.
  • Provide pre- and post-operative care to patients.
  • Assist with cardiac stress tests and monitoring.
  • Educate patients about cardiac risk factors and prevention.
  • Monitor patients with heart failure, cardiomyopathy, and other cardiac conditions.
  • Assist with the management of patients with NSTEMI and STEMI.
  • Provide support to patients with electrical disorders of the heart.
  • Maintain a positive and professional attitude.
  • Represent Sanford Health in a positive light.
  • Participate in department meetings and trainings.
  • Assist with other duties as assigned.
