As a Nursing Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing patient-centered care and assisting with daily living activities under the supervision of Registered Nurses (RNs) and Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs). The Nursing Assistant (NA) provides direct patient care, assisting with activities of daily living, and ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for patients. The NA works under the supervision of RNs and LPNs, and is responsible for monitoring vital signs, collecting specimens, and documenting patient care activities. The NA also provides emotional support and companionship to patients and their families.
A typical day for a Nursing Assistant in our Cardiology/Intermediate Care unit may include:

If working in North Dakota and not a Certified Nursing Assistant, must be on the North Dakota Department of Health Nurse Aide Registry upon completion of training/competency validation or a maximum of four months from the date of initial employment.
