Nursing Assistant - Neurosurgery - Full Time in Fargo, ND at Sanford Health

Sanford Health is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nursing Assistant to join our Neurosurgery team in Fargo, North Dakota. As a Nursing Assistant (NA), you will play a vital role in providing patient-centered care and daily living assistance to patients under the supervision of Registered Nurses (RNs) and Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs). Role Overview

As a Nursing Assistant in our Neurosurgery unit, you will be responsible for providing assistance with basic healthcare needs, including daily living activities, emotional and spiritual support, and delegated tasks and treatments. You will also be responsible for recording vital statistics, collecting specimens, performing clerical work, and maintaining a clean and safe environment for our patients. You will work closely with RNs and LPNs to ensure that our patients receive the highest quality of care.

A typical day for a Nursing Assistant in our Neurosurgery unit may include:

  • Assisting patients with bathing, grooming, and toileting.
  • Assisting patients with eating and meal preparation.
  • Providing emotional and spiritual support to patients.
  • Administering delegated tasks and treatments as directed by RNs or LPNs.
  • Recording vital statistics and other basic health information accurately.
  • Collecting non-invasive biological specimens from patients.
