  • Satisfactory completion of yearly department-specific competency testing (experience)
  • Maintenance of continuing education credits (minimum 12 hours annually) (experience)
  • Maintenance of all department-specific required certifications (experience)
  • Unlicensed Assistive Person (UAP) Registry certification (if applicable) (experience)
  • Qualified Medication Administration Person (QMAP) certification (Colorado facilities, if applicable) (experience)
  • Valid driver's license (dependent on facility and required responsibilities) (experience)
  • Motor vehicle report (dependent on facility and required responsibilities) (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Assist residents with bathing, toileting, grooming, and dressing
  • Obtain and record vital signs
  • Provide psychosocial support to residents
  • Assist residents with transferring, repositioning, and walking
  • Provide range of motion and passive exercises
  • Prepare food and assist residents with meals and snacks
  • Provide water and supplements as appropriate
  • Aid providers and nursing staff members with procedures
  • Document resident interactions and outcomes related to care, behavior, activity, and dietary
  • Communicate resident's changing condition and care-related concerns to the charge nurse
  • Collect non-invasive body fluid specimens
  • Provide housekeeping and laundry services
  • Assist with wellness and recreational programs
  • Encourage residents to participate in activities
  • Participate in departmental/organization committees and task forces as needed
  • Follow infection prevention and control policies
  • Use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) appropriately
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment for residents
  • Report any safety hazards or concerns to the appropriate personnel
  • Adhere to resident rights and confidentiality policies
  • Provide compassionate and respectful care to all residents
  • Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to ensure optimal resident care
