As a Patient Access Representative within Sanford Health's Psychiatry & Psychology clinic in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, you will be the first point of contact for patients, playing a critical role in providing exceptional customer service and creating a welcoming environment. This position involves a variety of responsibilities including patient registration, scheduling appointments, managing patient information, and ensuring efficient clinic operations. You will work independently while being supported by a collaborative and amazing team.
Your day as a Patient Access Representative will be dynamic and varied. You'll begin by greeting patients, verifying their demographics, and ensuring all necessary paperwork is completed. This includes creating, scanning, and routing documents or electronic forms. You'll establish financial responsibility by assisting patients with payment arrangements and collecting payments. A significant part of your day will involve scheduling appointments, coordinating referrals and pre-authorizations, and managing interpreter services. You'll also handle phone calls, resolve work queue issues, manage recall and waitlists, and may act as a switchboard operator. Additionally, you'll prepare and coordinate charts, track patient visits, administer assessments, and coordinate Telemedicine appointments. Your ability to multitask and provide exceptional service will be crucial to ensuring a smooth and positive patient experience.
