Responsibilities

  • Provide assistance with basic health care needs, including daily living activities (bathing, grooming, toileting, eating)
  • Assist with meal preparation and dining needs
  • Address patients' emotional and spiritual needs
  • Administer delegated tasks and treatments as directed
  • Record vital statistics and other basic health information accurately
  • Collect non-invasive biological specimens from patients as needed
  • Perform clerical work related to scheduling and documenting patient healthcare
  • Prepare patient treatment areas for use
  • Prepare and clean medical equipment according to standards
  • Dispose of biomedical waste in accordance with standards and policy
  • Clean patient living areas or treatment rooms
  • Provide one-on-one care to patients when necessary for safe provision of care
  • Monitor vital signs of neonates and infants
  • Assist with feeding tubes
  • Perform blood draws
  • Administer medication under supervision
  • Assist with resuscitation efforts
  • Provide respiratory support
  • Maintain incubators
  • Educate parents on infant care
  • Support families of patients
  • Assist with developmental care
  • Perform other tasks as assigned
