- Perform clinical assessments and diagnostic cardiac ultrasound examinations
- Utilize cognitive sonographic skills to identify and record appropriate anatomical, pathological, and diagnostic images
- Ensure the safety, mental, and physical comfort of the patient while in the sonographer's care
- Assist with the maintenance of laboratory accreditation
- Establish and maintain ethical working relationships and good rapport with all customers (i.e. patients, co-workers, physicians, peers, etc.)
- Perform procedures at the hospital and at outreach mobile sites
- Drive and/or fly with or without physicians to outreach mobile sites as needed
- Stay overnight as necessary for outreach mobile sites
- Perform echocardiography tests and procedures in accordance with the American Society of Echocardiography standards
- Train and orientate new employees and/or sonography students
- Thoroughly understand the operation of the ultrasound machine and utilizes new sonographic technologies
