Physician - Family Medicine Opportunity in Alexandria, MN

Sanford Health is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Family Medicine physician to join our growing practice in Alexandria, Minnesota. This is an excellent opportunity to practice full-spectrum family medicine in a vibrant community with a strong economy and a high quality of life.

Role Overview

As a Family Medicine physician at Sanford Health Alexandria, you will provide comprehensive primary care services to patients of all ages. This includes history and physical examinations, diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic illnesses, preventive care, and health education. You will also have the opportunity to participate in hospital call and provide inpatient care.

A Day in the Life

Your typical day might involve seeing patients in the clinic for scheduled appointments, managing walk-in patients in the acute care clinic, performing minor procedures, reviewing lab results, and consulting with specialists. You will also spend time documenting patient encounters in the electronic medical record. Depending on the call schedule, you may also be responsible for providing inpatient care at Alomere Health.

Required Qualifications

  • M.D. or D.O. degree (experience)
  • Successful completion of a Family Medicine residency program accredited by the ACGME, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada. (experience)
  • Experience demonstrated through residency procedure log or quality profile from hospital(s). (experience)
  • Active involvement in clinical aspects of Family Medicine. (experience)
  • Case log including 25 vaginal deliveries (if applicable). (experience)
  • Case log including 50 adult medical patients. (experience)
  • Case log including 10 inpatient care of children under 18 (excluding normal newborn). (experience)
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine. (experience)
  • Ability to obtain and maintain medical licensure in the State of Minnesota. (experience)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. (experience)
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment. (experience)
