1. What are the requirements for this position? M.D. or D.O. degree, Board Certified/Board Eligible in Family Medicine, completion of a Family Medicine residency program accredited by the ACGME, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada and valid medical license in Minnesota or eligibility to obtain one.
2. Is OB required for this position? No, OB is optional.
3. What is the call schedule like? Phone call coverage is 1 night per week and 1 weekend per month.
4. What is the nursing home responsibility? Nursing home responsibility is shared with other physicians.
5. What services are available at the hospital? Cardiac Rehab, Chemotherapy and Diabetic Services, ER imaging services with ultrasound and 128-slice CT, PAX system, ER telemetry, IV Infusion, Lab, OT, Speech & Language Rehab/Therapy, and a dietitian on staff. ER is a level 4.
6. What outreach services are provided at the hospital? Allergy asthma/immunology, cardiology, ENT, general surgery, neurology, oncology, ophthalmology, ortho, podiatry, urology and venous disease laser treatment.

8. What are the core privileges for Family Medicine? The ability to perform history and physical examination, admit (if applicable to the setting), evaluate, diagnose, treat and provide consultation to patients of all ages with a wide variety of illness, diseases, injuries, mental health conditions and functional disorders of circulatory, respiratory, endocrine, metabolic, musculoskeletal, hematopoietic, gastroenteric, integumentary, nervous, female reproductive, and genitourinary systems. This includes the pre-operative care of surgical patients and post-operative medical care of surgical patients and return to work issues.
9. What if I am a new graduate? An applicant who has just completed residency shall provide their residency procedure log and a list of completed rotations, as applicable.
10. What if I am not a new graduate? An applicant who is not applying directly out of a residency shall provide a quality profile from hospital(s) where he/she currently has privileges showing his/her clinical activity for the last 12 months, including numbers of procedures performed morbidity, mortality, infection rates, and other complications. Applicant must be able to demonstrate active involvement in the clinical aspects of Family Medicine by providing case log that includes 25 vaginal deliveries, 50 adult medical patients, and 10 inpatient care of children under the age of 18 (excluding normal newborn), as applicable to privileges being requested, in the last 12 months.
