Physician - Neurology - MS at Sanford Health in Sioux Falls, South Dakota

Role Overview

Sanford Health is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Neurologist with fellowship training in Multiple Sclerosis (MS) and Neuroimmunology to join our expanding Neurology department in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. This is an excellent opportunity to provide specialized care to patients with MS and other neuroimmunological disorders in a collaborative and supportive environment. You will work alongside experienced neurologists and advanced practice providers, contributing to the advancement of neurological care within the Sanford Health system.

A Day in the Life

As a Neurologist specializing in MS, your day-to-day activities will include:

  • Conducting comprehensive neurological examinations.
  • Interpreting diagnostic tests such as MRIs, evoked potentials, and lumbar punctures.
  • Diagnosing and managing patients with MS and related conditions.
  • Developing and implementing individualized treatment plans.
  • Prescribing and monitoring disease-modifying therapies (DMTs).
  • Providing patient education and counseling.
  • Collaborating with other healthcare professionals, including nurses, therapists, and social workers.
  • Participating in clinical research studies.
  • Contributing to the development of clinical guidelines.
  • Participating in departmental meetings and continuing medical education activities.

The position is primarily outpatient-based, with dedicated neuro-hospitalists and stroke specialists providing inpatient coverage. There will be opportunities for teaching and mentoring medical students and residents as the Sanford Neurology group serves as principal faculty for the Sanford USD School of Medicine. The Neurology residency program commenced in Summer 2023.
