Otolaryngology Hospitalist Opportunity in Fargo, North Dakota

Sanford Health, one of the largest and fastest-growing not-for-profit health systems in the United States, is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Otolaryngologist to join our collegial group of energetic ENT and Audiology providers in Fargo, ND. This is an exciting opportunity to provide full-time hospital/ER coverage, with some minor outpatient surgery, in a thriving and supportive environment.

Role Overview

As an Otolaryngology Hospitalist at Sanford Health in Fargo, you will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive medical and surgical care to patients of all ages presenting with diseases, deformities, or disorders of the head and neck. You will work in a fast-paced hospital setting, providing emergency and inpatient otolaryngology services. This position offers a proposed schedule of 2 weeks per month (182 shifts), with flexibility offered in the structure of scheduling.

Day in the Life

A typical day might involve:

  • Performing history and physical examinations on patients presenting to the emergency room with otolaryngological complaints.
  • Evaluating and diagnosing a wide range of head and neck conditions, from infections and injuries to tumors and congenital anomalies.
  • Providing consultation to other physicians and healthcare professionals.
  • Performing emergency surgical procedures, such as tracheostomies and foreign body removals.
  • Managing inpatient otolaryngology patients, including post-operative care and treatment of complications.
  • Participating in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss complex cases.
  • Performing minor outpatient surgical procedures.
