  • Conduct multiple sleep latency tests (MSLT) and maintenance of wakefulness tests (MWT).
  • Record relevant and accurate data for physicians to diagnose and treat sleep/wake disorders.
  • Perform Sleep Study Procedures or Neurological Testing for all patient populations.
  • Understand the testing equipment, including its structure, function, and indications for use.
  • Understand the physiological effect of equipment upon the patient.
  • Perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting procedures on testing equipment.
  • Monitor and document appropriately in the medical record per facility guidelines.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) standards and accreditation.
  • Possess a knowledge and understanding of disease and pathological conditions encountered.
  • Educate patients with prescribed therapies and sleep testing.
  • Follow up with patients as needed.
  • Acquire the ability to work with all age groups.
  • Address the growth and developmental needs of unique client populations.
  • Prepare patients for sleep studies, including electrode placement and explanation of procedures.
  • Monitor patients throughout the night, observing sleep stages and identifying any abnormalities.
  • Score sleep studies according to AASM guidelines.
  • Generate accurate and comprehensive reports for physicians to review.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and infection control procedures.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide optimal patient care.
