Registered Nurse - South University Day Unit/PACU at Sanford Health in Fargo, ND

Role Overview

Sanford Health is seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our South University Orthopedic Surgical Services team in Fargo, North Dakota. This position is located within our Day Unit, Recovery Care, PACU, ECT, & Eye Center Day Unit offering a dynamic and fast-paced work environment. As an RN, you will be responsible for utilizing the nursing process to provide individualized care to patients in all phases of their surgical journey, from pre-operative preparation to post-operative recovery.

Day in the Life

As a Registered Nurse in our South University Day Unit/PACU, your day will be filled with a variety of responsibilities. You will be collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans. Your tasks may include:

  • Conducting pre-operative assessments and preparing patients for surgery.
  • Monitoring patients during and after procedures in the PACU.
  • Administering medications and treatments as prescribed.
  • Providing patient education and support to patients and their families.
  • Documenting patient care accurately and efficiently.
  • Responding to patient needs and concerns promptly.
  • Assisting with discharge planning.
  • Working collaboratively with a team of nurses and other healthcare professionals.

The position offers a Monday through Friday schedule with 10-hour shifts, with start times varying between 0500 and 0830. No weekends or major holidays are required.
