Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of accredited nursing program (AACN, ACEN, NLN CNEA) (experience)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (preferred) (experience)
  • Unencumbered RN license in North Dakota or Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state (experience)
  • Department-specific competencies and certifications (experience)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team (experience)

  • Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) (experience)

Responsibilities

  • Utilize the nursing process to provide individualized care to patients.
  • Conduct patient assessments to identify needs and develop care plans.
  • Implement nursing interventions based on patient diagnoses and care plans.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of nursing interventions and adjust care plans as needed.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
  • Monitor patient vital signs and report any changes to the appropriate healthcare provider.
  • Educate patients and their families about their medical conditions and treatment plans.
  • Document patient care accurately and completely in the electronic health record.
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment for patients.
  • Adhere to all hospital policies and procedures.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care.
  • Delegate tasks to other members of the healthcare team as appropriate.
  • Provide emotional support to patients and their families.
  • Respond to patient emergencies and provide appropriate interventions.
  • Ensure patient privacy and confidentiality.
  • Maintain professional competence through continuing education and professional development.
  • Operate and troubleshoot medical equipment.
  • Assist with admissions, discharges, and transfers of patients.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Provide wound care and dressing changes as needed.
  • Administer intravenous fluids and medications.
  • Collect and process laboratory specimens.
  • Assist with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
  • Participate in team meetings and patient care conferences.
