Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred (may be required based on state) (experience)
• Ability to complete and maintain assigned medication administration training program and competencies per state guidelines (experience)
• If working in a facility with a lift, must meet minimum state age requirement (experience)
• Strong commitment to resident well-being and providing compassionate care (experience)
• Ability to follow instructions and procedures accurately (experience)
• Knowledge of basic hygiene and infection control practices (experience)
• Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff (experience)
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team (experience)
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and respect resident privacy (experience)
• Physical ability to assist residents with mobility, lifting, and other physical tasks (experience)
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays (experience)
• Successful completion of background check and drug screening (experience)
• Valid driver's license (if required for specific duties) (experience)
• Basic computer skills for documentation purposes (experience)

Responsibilities

• Assisting residents with self-administration of medications and/or administering medications with proper training and certification
• Assisting residents with bathing, dressing, and maintaining personal hygiene
• Helping residents with toileting needs
• Assisting residents in transferring, repositioning, and walking
• Obtaining and accurately recording vital signs, and reporting any changes in resident health status to the appropriate personnel
• Adhering to OSHA and CDC guidelines to minimize infections, including following aseptic cleaning techniques and protocols for bloodborne pathogens
• Demonstrating safe and proper techniques for chemical use, and following SDS guidelines for any exposure
• Preparing and serving nutritious, appealing meals and snacks to residents, following dietary orders, standards, and regulations
• Folding, hanging, and distributing clean linens and personal clothing
• Preparing and laundering soiled linen and clothing
• Cleaning residents' rooms and bathrooms, work areas, and other public areas to maintain a clean and sanitary environment
• Participating in community involvement activities within the location, and working with volunteers
• Observing and reporting any changes in residents' physical or emotional condition
• Documenting care provided and observations made in accordance with facility policies and procedures
• Responding to resident calls for assistance promptly and courteously
• Maintaining a safe and comfortable environment for residents
• Attending and participating in staff meetings and training sessions
• Following all facility policies and procedures, including safety and emergency protocols
• Respecting residents' rights and promoting their independence and dignity
• Providing companionship and emotional support to residents
• Assisting with recreational activities and social events to enhance residents' quality of life
