RN Inpatient - Broadway Med/Surg - Nights at Sanford Health: Fargo, ND

Role Overview

Are you a Registered Nurse (RN) passionate about providing exceptional care to medical/surgical patients? Sanford Health in Fargo, North Dakota, is seeking a dedicated RN to join our Broadway Med/Surg team on night shifts. This is an excellent opportunity to utilize your nursing skills in a dynamic and supportive environment.

As an RN in our 47-bed Medical/Surgical unit (5SE), you will care for patients from a variety of specialties, including Nephrology, Urology, Oral-Maxillary/Facial, surgical oncology, and general surgery. The unit serves diverse surgical patient populations, including kidney transplants, gynecologic, colorectal, urologic, breast and plastics, laparoscopic procedures, maxillofacial, and general surgical procedures.

We are looking for candidates who are passionate about meeting the needs of complex medical/surgical patients. This unit provides a great opportunity to hone your skills and can be a steppingstone to future roles in the ICU, OR, Oncology, or ER.

A Day in the Life of an RN Inpatient

Here’s a glimpse into a typical night shift as an RN on the Broadway Med/Surg unit:

  • 7:00 PM: Receive report from the outgoing shift, reviewing patient status, care plans, and any critical updates.
  • 7:30 PM: Conduct initial patient assessments, including vital signs, pain levels, and overall condition.
  • 8:00 PM - 12:00 AM: Administer medications, perform wound care, manage IV lines, and assist with patient hygiene. Monitor patients closely for any changes in condition and respond to patient calls.
  • 12:00 AM - 1:00 AM: Charting and documentation of patient care, ensuring accurate and timely records.
  • 1:00 AM - 5:00 AM: Continue patient monitoring, medication administration, and other nursing interventions. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals as needed.
