Sanford Health in Fargo, North Dakota, has an exceptional opportunity for you to join our team as an RN in our Inpatient Eating Disorders Unit. This role offers the chance to work within a collaborative, interdisciplinary environment, providing specialized care to individuals aged 12 and older from across the United States.
As an RN in our 8-bed Inpatient Eating Disorders Unit, you will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive and individualized care to patients with a range of eating disorders, including anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, avoidant restrictive food intake disorder (ARFID), and other related conditions. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, therapists, dietitians, and other specialists to develop and implement treatment plans tailored to each patient's unique needs.
This position involves providing direct patient care, administering medications, monitoring vital signs, and educating patients and their families about eating disorders and recovery strategies. You will also facilitate group therapy sessions, participate in individual therapy, and conduct assessments to track patient progress. The unit also incorporates a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) and an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), expanding the scope of care you will be involved in.

You must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program (AACN, ACEN, NLN CNEA) and hold a current unencumbered RN license in North Dakota or multistate licensure in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state. A Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing is preferred.
Experience in eating disorders is helpful, but not a requirement for the role. We provide comprehensive training to our staff.
The nurse-to-patient ratio on all shifts is 1:4-5.
We treat patients aged 12 and older.
We treat a range of eating disorders, including anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, avoidant restrictive food intake disorder (ARFID), and other related conditions.
This position requires working every Saturday and Sunday only, 12 hr rotating shifts.
New grads are encouraged to apply! We have a comprehensive orientation and preceptorship program for new graduate nurses.
Our interdisciplinary team includes psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, behavioral health therapists, dieticians, occupational therapists, recreational therapists, exercise physiologists, nursing, and nursing assistants. It's a very collaborative environment.
