  • Schedule breast biopsies, coordinating with technicians and radiologists.
  • Communicate biopsy orders and appointment dates to primary care providers.
  • Notify patients of benign pathology results and follow-up recommendations as communicated by the radiologist.
  • Coordinate with primary care providers to notify patients of malignant results and place referral orders.
  • Serve as a circulating nurse for breast biopsy and aspiration procedures, including patient education, allergy verification, and consent acquisition.
  • Prepare slides and smears for fine needle aspirations.
  • Provide discharge instructions to patients after procedures.
  • Conduct follow-up phone calls with patients who have benign results.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and trend patient responses using structured care methodologies.
