Role Overview

As a Registered Nurse in our Trauma Medical Unit, you will be an integral part of a team dedicated to providing comprehensive care to adult medical and surgical trauma patients. This 32-bed unit offers a wide range of medical patients and general surgeries, including vascular surgery, Trauma, and Trauma Orthopedic cases. Sanford Health is recognized as a Hip Fracture Center of Excellence and a Level 1 Trauma Center, making this a dynamic and stimulating environment for professional growth.

Your responsibilities will encompass all aspects of the nursing process, from assessment and diagnosis to planning, implementation, and evaluation. You will collaborate with physicians and other inter-professional colleagues to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients. A Day in the Life

Each day in the Trauma Medical Unit is unique, but you can expect a fast-paced and challenging environment. You will be responsible for managing a patient load of 4-5 patients on day and evening shifts and 5-6 patients on night shifts. You will work closely with a team of nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to provide coordinated care. Your day will include:
