Job Description

Data Office Lead - Roles & Responsibilities

As Data Office Lead you will play a critical role in driving the implementation of Schneider Electric's global data strategy, ensuring compliance with data governance standards, and fostering data maturity across the organization within the Greater India zone.

You will support in defining the data strategy for the country, with an objective of operationalizing the data vision, establishing highly skilled teams, and prioritizing projects that align with strategic business goals. Your mission is to lead and coordinate multiple teams, ensuring that data management practices align with organizational objectives. You will focus on optimizing processes to enhance operational efficiency, drive value creation, and foster a data-driven culture within the organization. You will often be called upon to address complex issues and challenges, requiring detailed analysis and innovative problem-solving. In addition, you regularly define new processes or procedures to improve the overall data management function, ensuring alignment with both current and future organizational needs.

The role involves stakeholder management across all levels such as senior leadership, peers and the larger data office teams, local as well as global. The role involves lot of coordination with peers and data office teams to gather data points around various topics and entails lot of regular touch points with multiple Data & Performance teams on highlighting the achievements and support required.

Responsibilities

· Data Maturity & Data Office Development

o Be part of Business Data Office Advisory Board Meetings and highlight team’s achievements and best practices.

o Interaction with D&P Data Office Development Leader to understand the global data initiatives and implement them locally

o Identify challenges and issues within the country and data office and seek solutions and support from D&P Teams on various data topics for enablement of business priorities through data and analytics use cases

o Drive the data maturity assessment & scoring for India in coordination with D&P and Data Office teams

· PMO & Data Governance

o Ensure adoption of Data Golden Rules in data & analytics use cases executed within the data office and the country

o Coordinate with Data Design Authority on the clarifications around GRCC

o Understand value realization framework as defined by D&P Teams and use it for local data use cases to derive quantifiable business value. Your involvement as PMO in driving value realization framework localization would be key.

· Data Catalog & Quality Initiatives

o Lead Data Quality Initiatives that align with global DQ strategy, technologies & local business requirements

o Render support on DQ to local Data Domain Leaders for enhancing the maturity of the Data Domains

o Data Cataloguing of all data assests within the zone, example dashboards & reports as well as operationalizing the adoption of global data cataloguing tool in India

· IDS/NXT Adoption

o Spearhead the initiative of IDS/IDS NXT adoption for Greater India Data Office, in that capacity interact with Global Stakeholders such as D&P, GTS, SE Digital Delivery Teams and lay out clear roadmap for migration of use cases to Intel DS NXT

o Coordinate with IDS NXT teams on the availability of IDS NXT Platform, defining MVPs for migration of use cases to the IDS/NXT platform

o Enabling and equipping larger data office teams, such as Data Engineers to work in the new technologies

· Lead the UNIFY Data Initiative for preparing India to be ‘data ready’ for all the waves as per the roadmap. This involves

o Directing and leading the UNIFY data team on the different activities to be performed such as Structural mappings, Data cleansing & enrichment, data migration strategy, reporting & analytics etc. as defined by Regional and Global

o Interaction with Global, Regional and local stakeholders to understand global strategy and then execute it locally

o Regular cadences with Global, Regional and Local stakeholders

o Involve the local business stakeholders from GSC, Finance and O2C in the data activities.

· Tableau Governance

o Govern, Administer and provide direction to the data office teams on the usage of tableau platform as per tableau best practices in alignment with global tableau platform teams

o Monitor the space usage, identify the challenges and seek solutions from global tableau platform teams for developing use cases aligned with best practices

o Streamlining the data access management process for data office dashboards

· Change Management Initiatives

o Lead the teams for data change management initiatives viz. animate the data business partner community, their engagement plan with the data office throughout the year, have quarterly cadences with them on the progress

· Use Cases Maintenance & Support

o Enable timely data refresh and maintenance of some use cases for business usage and adoption through FTCs part of your team

· Team Management

o Setting the direction for your teams, focusing on planning, prioritizing, and coordinating efforts to achieve key data management objectives. This includes ensuring that all initiatives are executed in alignment with strategic data goals and local business requirements, with a focus on continuous improvement.

o Regular cadences with your team to monitor the progress, setting expectation and help in solving challenges.

o Provide technical guidance to the teams on Data Quality, IDS/IDS NXT etc.

o Responsibilities around ramping up the teams in case applicable, FTCs contract renewal, third party vendor coordination for new FTCs hiring and their contract management.

o People Manager responsibilities for FTEs
