Senior Power Systems Engineer

Job Description

For this U.S. based position, the expected compensation range is $96,000-$144,000 per year, which includes base pay and short-term incentive.  

 

The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located within the United States. Our salary ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the salary range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Schneider Electric also offers a comprehensive benefits package to support our employees, inclusive of medical (with member reward points), dental, vision, and basic life insurance, Benefit Bucks (credits to apply towards your benefits) flexible work arrangements, paid family leaves, 401(k) + match, well-being and recognition (including service anniversary) programs, 12 holidays per year, 15 days of paid time off per year (pro-rated in the first year of employment based on start date), opportunity to purchase company stock (eligibility depends on start date), and military leave benefits. 

 

Schneider Electric Consulting Services provides a broad range of power engineering solutions, including system studies, power system assessments, and electrical design. We are seeking a Senior Power Systems Engineer with a strong emphasis on electrical design to support our growing portfolio of design-based projects.

 

This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who enjoys working on detailed design deliverables and contributing technical expertise throughout the project lifecycle—from front-end engineering through commissioning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform electrical design tasks for power system projects, including:
    • One-line and three-line diagrams
    • Electrical schematics
    • Cable schedules
    • Equipment layouts and conduit plans
    • Technical specifications and design documentation
  • Collaborate with project teams and clients to define design requirements and ensure deliverables meet expectations.
  • Support front-end engineering and design (FEED) activities, including feasibility studies and conceptual layouts.
  • Assist in developing scopes of work and pricing for design-based opportunities.
  • Contribute to proposal development and respond to technical inquiries during the sales process.
  • Participate in customer meetings to present design concepts and clarify technical details.
  • Stay current with design tools, industry standards, and emerging technologies to enhance project quality and efficiency.
  • Solid experience in electrical design for power systems, preferably within consulting or engineering services.
  • Familiarity with design workflows, documentation standards, and commissioning processes.
  • Proficiency in design software tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, ETAP, SKM).
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
  • Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; PE license preferred but not required.
