The Role: Project Management Dept. Manager – DC Regional Application Center Japan

We are looking for Project Management Dept. Manager in DC Regional Application Center Japan. This position heads a team that is responsible to provide the thought leadership and mentorship and systematically drive Project Management standardization, excellence in planning and execution of turn-key Mission Critical Infrastructure projects in Japan.

What will you do?

  • Primary responsibilities include deploying consistent project management practices, process and framework, adapting project management methodology to region and country needs and rolling them out to ensure customer success and profitability of projects. This role will also be key in developing a culture of assessing risks on projects and managing them proactively.
  • Being the gatekeeper to ensure the Project Management and Execution process and framework is in place and being executed by DC RAC Japan.
  • Oversee a team for the deployment of standard tools to manage projects which will formalize project initiation, approval and execution processes
  • Tracks the progress of our projects in Japan with milestone billings, project site issues, project process implementation, etc.
  • Interfaces with Procurement on the requirements of the procurement process required for DC turnkey projects, vendor qualification, sub contractor qualification, etc.
  • Be iInvolved  in all projects especially at its initial stages to ensure the Project Management and Execution processes and framework are in place and being executed

What skills and capabilities will make you successful?

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and able to use and have basic skill in AutoCad.
  • Strong communicator – both written and verbal in technical and non-technical environment.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and demonstrates effective time management skills.
  • Excellent business ethics and integrity.
  • Demonstrates flexibility in operational style to meet the requirements or multi-culture position.

Who will you report to?

  • This position heads a team of Project Managers and will reporting directly to DC Regional Application Centre Japan Head.

What qualifications will make you successful for this role?

  • Over 10 years project management experience in Japan in the Mission Critical Infrastructure with both hands-on and supervisory level.
  • Native Japanese and basic English communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Local Installation Standards and Authorities Requirement,
  • Certification of 1st Class Electrical or Plumbing Construction Managing Engineers in Japan or equivalent certification would be needed.
  • Certification and some technical training covering Generator Systems, MV & LV Systems, Large UPS Systems, Chiller Systems, Fire Protection Systems etc would be added advantage.
