Software Engineer Intern

Job Description

For this U.S. based position, the expected compensation range is $22.50 - $27.00 per hour. In addition, this position is eligible for overtime pay and recognition programs. The compensation rate for this position is for candidates located within the United States. Individual pay is determined by several factors including knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Schneider Electric is looking for a self-driven student pursuing a degree in Computer Science for a 12-week summer intern position as a Software Engineering Intern in our Lake Forest, CA office. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Computer Science with strong mathematical skills and experience developing machine learning models. This candidate will be working on the delivery of a very innovative AI solution. 
 
What will you do?
  • Assist the Triconex team to evaluate new technologies.
  • Get familiar with the Triconex Safety system
  • Develop tools and innovative solutions that can extend the Triconex software portfolio.
  • Design, prototype and analyze new software solutions and existing legacy applications.
  • Demonstrate weekly progress.
  • Write design proposals and present to the leadership team.

What qualifications will make you successful for this role?

  • Current university student pursuing an undergraduate degree in Computer Science.
  • Candidate must be willing and able to work in our Lake Forest, CA office for the duration of the internship. This position does not offer relocation or living stipend.
  • Ability to demonstrate strong mathematical, reasoning and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with Python and able to demonstrate with individual projects that you completed.
  • Skills to be involved in special research project based on machine-learning and data modeling.
  • Passionate and enthusiastic to learn new tools and techniques.
  • Knowledge of C/C++, Git and Matlab is preferred.
